Driving the Africa's Tech rise
According to the World Bank’s Global Findex Report (2022), mobile money accounts in Sub-Saharan Africa have tripled over the past seven years, with 33% of the population holding mobile accounts compared to just 12% in 2014.
Furthermore, Africa is expected to have strong positive drivers in the form of a vibrant and innovative technology sector, rapid technology adoption rates among consumers, digital transformation by businesses and governments, and additional foreign direct investment by major international ICT companies.

Narrow the digital financial gap
Over the past 15 years, African fintechs have transformed access to finance, particularly in key African economies, improving the ability to make and receive digital payments, with usage increasing from 28% in 2014 to 50% in 2021.
By ensuring access to financial services to the population, FinTech companies have the potential to profoundly change the financial services landscape and play a pivotal role in improving financial inclusion.

Empowering new success stories
The continent has already proven its readiness for FinTech symbolized by success stories like MPESA, a groundbreaking mobile phone-based financial service, JUMIA, a Nigerian e-commerce startup or Djamo – an Ivorian fintech startup that offers financial services to the region's unbanked and underbanked people, that has just raised $14 million in an equity round –, to name a few.
This dynamism positions Africa as the present and future epicenter of FinTech’s global development.

Africa Gate to Growth 2025 forum hosted by the Ivorian Ministry of Digital Transition and Digitalization, in collaboration with SPECI, CLKA Law Firm, and the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business African Business Club, will convene industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to address critical challenges and opportunities in Africa’s financial and technological landscape.

THE IMMERSION PROGRAM

Six Days in the Silicon Valley to empower Ivoire Tech Champions

The Immersion Program spans six days, taking place on February 21 and February 24–28, 2025. It includes workshops, practical sessions, company visits, and Q&A discussions with top-tier tech firms, and also features small-group mentoring with innovation experts, providing tailored guidance to participants. The program ensures participants gain both strategic insights and practical tools to drive growth in their industries.

A Strategic Partnership
Afrinovatech partnered with the Silicon Valley Innovation Center to empower West African startups through this week-long program in Silicon Valley, offering global insights, best practices, and networking to drive growth and innovation. The initiative aims to elevate Côte d’Ivoire’s fintech ecosystem and inspire unicorn ambitions.

Key Objectives
The program offers a hands-on learning experience for African startups and innovators. It focuses on driving growth through strategic alliances, managing high-performing teams, achieving product-market fit, and scaling investments. Additionally, it empowers startups to navigate the funding landscape, craft compelling investor pitches, and position themselves as globally competitive businesses.

THE AGENDA

A two-part event

  • The Opening (February 21, 2025) : Featuring a Forum with exhibitor stands, expert discussions, and keynotes from leaders, this segment allows attendees to explore Africa’s regulatory frameworks and growth opportunities.
  • The Immersion program (February 24–28, 2025): Held in Silicon Valley, this phase includes hands-on workshops, mentoring, and exposure to global best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation.

The forum kicks off with exhibitor stands showcasing opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Attendees will then hear from esteemed leaders such as ambassadors, ministers, and industry experts during the opening remarks.

This will be followed by a session on business and regulatory frameworks in Africa, with leading law firms providing insights into the legal landscape in key regions like WAEMU, Morocco, and Nigeria.

A series of firechats will delve into transformative topics is planned,

  • The role of AI in driving business innovation.
  • Strategies for advancing financial inclusion across the continent.
  • Unlocking funding opportunities for African enterprises.


The day concludes with success stories from leading African entrepreneurs and speed networking and private dinner opportunities for building meaningful partnerships.
